All about our massage style
Our mission is to help you live your best life; with less stress and more empowerment.
Sense of Soma provides well-being massages for the purpose of relaxation, body-mind reconnection, empowerment, injury prevention, and maintenance of physical and mental health.
We avoid chatting since the purpose of massage is to calm your mind and reconnect you to your body. This way, you can simply relax and dive into a meditative state while being pampered by us.
But, you should always tell us if you feel any discomfort during a massage. Your massage therapist will also ask you for feedback about the amount of pressure during a session. Be sure to give an honest answer.
Absolutely! You can stop the massage at any time, for any reason.
Our holistic massage therapy is a great way to relax. It also eases muscle tightness, physical pain, anxiety, depression, or any other problems that may shorten your nights. The sessions will definitely have an effect on your overall well-being, too.
Our website provides you with a lot of informational material to give you a feel of what we offer. Do not hesitate to call us or contact us through email if you have questions before making a decision. We are here to help you!
Your massage therapist will prepare their setup while you get ready. If you didn’t send us an intake form in advance, we would fill out the paperwork together. The session starts with you making yourself comfortable on the table, which is followed by a short emotional and body check-in. During the massage, we try to talk as little as possible. We finish the session by giving you time to ground yourself again. The last step is a final check-in to ensure you are feeling relaxed and empowered. Afterward, we clean our equipment and leave your home.
We are gentle and do not hurt. This doesn’t mean that we don’t go deep! But we enter a deeper layer of muscles only when your body allows us to. It is a process that may take some time, maybe even several sessions. No force, only love is used to help you feel better. You may experience mild, temporary pain while chronic pains and emotional ballasts are loosening up.
There are no definite rules about how often you should receive a massage. From our experience, it is most beneficial if you get one once a week or every two weeks. You can determine the right treatment plan for you in consultation with your massage therapist.
Yes! Massage may help relieve specific painful symptoms. Consult your doctor before getting a massage if you have any serious medical conditions, and please inform your massage therapist as well.
You will receive 60 minutes of active massage in a 90-minute session. The other 30 minutes are used for preparing the space, check-in, paperwork, and clean-up.
We use oils that can stain clothes, so it’s best to remove them. You can keep your underwear on if you prefer. A blanket or towel can provide you with warmth and privacy during a massage.
Sense of Soma massages are not covered by health insurance. Make sure you check our website and social media for special discounts and savings packages.
Trust is one of the most important roles in the success of a massage. We build it through offering you support between sessions, check-ins prior to a massage, deep listening, and respecting your wishes. We also have a strict confidential policy to not share any data, medical conditions, or anything else that you trust us with to third parties.
Check-ins are a way to relax your mind before getting a massage. They will give a massage therapist an insight into what areas need the most focus.
Avoid a massage if you have fever, high blood pressure, infectious disease, bruises, open wounds, skin conditions like impetigo or herpes, hernia, you’re receiving chemotherapy, or if you are under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
